Default 997.2 Mufflers

I live in a neighborhood with rather restrictive noise covenants. I want to do the Gundo hack on my 997.2 CS, but I may need to go back to stock mufflers if my neighbors get too bent out of shape. Consequently, I want to do the hack on a second set of mufflers and keep my original mufflers stock just in case I need to reverse the hack.

Also, my dealer may be hard-nosed about warranty work on my car if I do the hack. Since I didn't purchase the car from them, they haven't been overly-welcoming about warranty work. I may need to re-install my stock mufflers in the event I need any serious warranty work done.

Eventually, I may be forced to invest in a stock PSE system so I can turn the PSE on and off. However, I would like to try the Gundo hack first as it is much more cost effective.

If any of you guys are upgrading your 997.2 CS exhaust with an aftermarket exhaust system and you want to offset your out-of-pocket cost, I am interested in purchasing your stock mufflers.

Thanks,

Hi Warren-
I am planning to remove the stock mufflers on my 997.2 4S with 10K miles to install the PSE sitting in my garage. If you are not in a huge hurry, I would sell the stock mufflers, sans tips, for $450 plus shipping.
Thanks,
Michael

Are the WB mufflers the same as the NB mufflers on the 997.2 for both S models ?

The Gundo hack isn't like straight pipes. It's only slightly louder than stock and certainly not any louder than many other stock exhausts on performance cars. I'd be very surprised if any of your neighbors would even notice that you've done the mod.
