Default Leather touch up

The side of my car seat has some abrasions which I would like to take care of. What do you guys use to mend seat leather? Thanks.

Roughed up surface. Abrasion. Can see white patches. This is near the driver side seat, might be due to seat belt abrasion? Thx.

You can use a light piece of sandpaper to smooth and I use shoe polish to touch up every so often.

Leatherique makes a kit to repair color, it is a very fine product.

Buy small bottle of leather paint from a shoe repair shop. This will mask the underlining hide.

Just a word of caution if you take the shoe polish route..it seems no matter how well you dry/polish after application it can rub off on your white shirt. Ask me how I know!

Yeah Connolly Hide Food. It's great for basic cleaning and conditioning. But not for fixing what the OP is describing. He's describing places where the leather dye has worn off. The only way to fix that is to wetsand it smooth (if its bad enough) and then dye it back to the original color. And the best way to do that is through Leatherique. You can even send them a sample of your leather (think a small snip from under the seat somewhere) and they will match the color and send you what you need to fix it. If it's a small place it's an easy job though you have to be careful with it.

you can buy a dye that is specially for your porsche color. it can be sprayed or brushed on with a foam brush after a cleaning. if there are any big cracks, you may need a leather filler and scuff it up with a very fine sand paper.

there are leather repair specialists that can do this too. they charge only about $100 and color matched perfectly. look under leather or car interior in yellow pages or online.

+1 on Leatherique products. Never tried their repair products, but their cleaner and oil are remarkable. A tedious process but magical.

+1 also on Leatherique products. Their oil rejuvenator and cleansing product is just amazing. After treatment the leather looses that stiffness and becomes soft again, looks absolutely new, and feels great. You won't be disappointed.

I used Leather Magic (http://www.leathermagic.com/index.html) some years ago to restore two fairly expensive leather chairs in my office. The color had worn off in many places and some light cracking. They mixed the color perfectly to the sample I sent them and without too much effort the chairs look brand new again.

Call a couple of car dealerships in your area. Ask them who does their leather repair. I got a recommended name and the guy came to my house and worked his magic on the seats. Used a spray apparatus and matched the color perfectly. The seats looked absolutely new when he was done. Cost a hundred bucks....what a deal! He also gave me a small bottle of some special stuff to clean and condition the leather.

I had a snag in the passenger's seat in my 911 (don't ask..). I took the car to my selling dealer, and their detail guy fixed it. Even if you knew where the snag was, you couldn't find it. It cost me $50, but I'd do it again.

Check with your dealer.
