It was gorgeous here this past weekend! Sorry I didn't see you out on the roads Jasper.

My youngest stepchild loved my 996, which was a cab, and would always ask me to put the top down regardless of the weather. One day we were out in the cold, his teeth were chattering and his lips were turning blue, but he wanted to keep that top down!

He was pissed when I sold that car. I'm not sure that he has ever forgiven me.

I'd love to buy a Coupe, but I don't want to be without a Cab. Wife and budget would not like 2 997's in the garage. I've had convertibles on and off (mostly on) since I was 18 (sadly a long time ago) and I know I would miss the Cab. So my next ride will be a 997.2 S Cab or (subject to a thorough test drive) maybe a 991 Cab after a couple of years in production.

Send your stepson over, I'll give him a ride in Jasper (Jasper is the name of the car)

That's great, thanks! He's got his leaner's permit too and has always wanted to drive a Porsche...

(mine's a manual, and he's not quite there yet)

I agree a cold day in California isn't that bad, but Seems like this cold streak won't end. I didn't sign up for 30 degree mornings!

With my luck, it'll warm up just after I leave for snowy Stockholm on saturday. :P

I too took my cab for a 50 mile run on Saturday afternoon, the first outing it has had in a couple of months. The last 20 miles were top down. Temp was in the low to mid 30's, but it was still comfortable with seat heaters, wind screen, and front side windows up. For some reason the rear windows have recently refused to go up when the top is down. But they don't make much difference anyway.
