Default Today I cried (pic inside)

Well folks,

I really (foolishly) never thought that my pristine C2S cab would never fall victim to someone's stupidity.

After 2.5 yrs of ownership, and 6.5 years of total life of this car, and just a tad over 20K miles, my idiot neighbor in our high rise garage must have used some crazy geometry to hit my car this morning on her way out.

I am sad. I know it's just a car, but when you try so hard to keep it pristine and someone does something like this, it just hurts.

It's only the bumper and I plan to take it like Mathews Carlsen, which is one of the best shops around here and they specialize in Porsches and Audis. I believe it will look factory new when done.

I would like some advice on diminished value. Something I should worry about?

Appreciate everyone listening. *sigh*

-a.

Not sure why the pic is upside down -- here's another link --

I can't speak to diminished value but I feel for you; I'd be sick.

Because your stomach is churning over and over...sick to your stomach. I see some scratches over R rear wheel arch as well. At least you know who did this. Good luck.

Those aren't scratches -- thats the reflection of chrome on a different car parked next to me.

Don't scare me like that again :-)

I feel your pain. Even a simple door ding would upset me. The good news is that it doesn't look like any structural damage was done and by taking it to an excellent body shop, the car will look as good as new. The only concern I'd have is if the accident shows up in a CarFax report. GL and I hope your car is back in pristine condition soon.

Relax. This is easily fixed and bumpers are cheap. Just make sure you have a good painter that can exactly match the body paint.

Sorry. I know this feels bad right now but the fact that it's just the bumper cover is fortunate. It's plastic, can easily be restored or replaced, and with a good paint job you'll never know anything happened. Given the circumstances, I can't imagine diminished value being a significant issue.

Thanks Mike.

Do you think in this case it would just require a new bumper and new paint? vs. refinishing.

In my Never To Be Humble opinion, it's a plastic bumper. Pop out and paint will fix it I'll bet. Even so... it still makes for the feeling of the rapid evacuation of one's lunch!

Sorry to see the damage but on the positive side, it is just a bumper, no structural damage and most important of all, nobody was hurt (emotionally yes but not physically). I am sure your neighbor feels crappy as well.
