I'm in Ny but unfortunately do not have those seats. I just wanted to say I'm happy to see you're back in the game looking after what happened to your car!
Good luck finding a good one!

I bought them for my '06 C2S. Probably a bit of a trip for you - Pittstown, south of Clinton in West/Central Jersey.

I can tell you that myself being 5'11'', 263 lbs with a full 40 waist i fit in these seats no problem. Ideally if i drop some weight, the fit will be perfect, but even now there is no issue in terms of fitting.

Deansdream, thanks its a bit of a hike

I am 6'3" 215lbs. Im less worried about fitting than about general level of comfort with no recline or hight adjustability. My back likes a comfy seat

I have them in my Spyder and they are awesome. Not only do they do an incredible job of keeping you in place, they are also very comfortable. The downside is they do take more effort to get in/out of but once you know the technique it's not bad. They look great too IMHO.

You can always buy the car, and sell the seats if you don't like them. They bring about $5000 for the pair. Sport Seats are about $2000, so you will "save" $3000

+1. Very good advice. I have them. 6'/190 lbs. Like them a lot, but they are not the best for long trips.

years ago i passed up a great deal on an '09 launch because of those seats. since then i've started tracking so i had to buy them new for an arm and a leg. buy other seats and swap out if you dont like them and take the extra cash. but FWIW i was wary of them when i sat in the '09, and when i bought them last year i initially thought it would take some getting used to. it took all of 5 minutes. theyre awesome. get them/the car.

Try them first if you can. They do not adjust as you know and sit about 1" higher than the regular seats when fully lowered. I'm 5'11" and wouldn't want to be much taller or my helmet might brush the roof.

As far as comfort, I find them to be the most comfortable Porsche makes. A 4 - 5 hour trip is no problem.

On the other hand, they are easy to sell if they don't work out.

assuming they are as easy to sell as everyone says, where does one get a nice pair of sport seats and if I do find the active kind, will wiring them up be an issue?

You can find seats at LA Porsche dismantler. No idea if there are wiring issues
