Default XM Satellite Receiver Location

I just picked up a 2009 C2S. It has XM listed as factory installed option and is listed on the PCM, but when I tried to activate XM it's not receiving the XM satellite signal.

Does anyone know where the satellite receiver is located? The antenna appears to be on the roof near the back glass, but I wanted to check the connection to the receiver. I looked all through the trunk and took most of the trim apart, but I'll be darned if I can find it.

I am open to any other simple troubleshooting. I have an appointment with dealer on Friday, but I'd like to know this stuff for myself.

I should also mention that I have searched and looked through the online parts list and couldn't find any direct help.

Thanks in advance.

It's an integral part of the PCM3

You need to have a clear line in the open air. If you are in a garage or covered area, it most likely will not activate.

I tried it in an open park lot and in other open air locations on several occasions. I am pretty sure there's something wrong with either the antenna or the connection to the receiver. It had to have worked at one time, because the former owner's presets are still on the PCM.

Are you receiving the preview station?

I had a similar problem, then I called XM on three separate occasions and they sent back a signal each time..somehow the 3 rd time was a charm and evrything works.

I'd recommend parking in an open area and calling them to go through the activation ..if this still doesnt work after mutiple tries like in my case, take it to your dealer to troubleshoot.

I think for it to activate you should still be able to hear the preview channel. I get no signal at all. I should get it back from dealer and will report back.

Edit: dealer just confirmed bad antenna.
