Default Accurate 997 price guide?

I've started getting in the market for an '09 C2S Coupe and not unexpectedly find the dealer asking prices range upwards of $20k for similar cars. I'm interested in a CPO'd car. When trying to get an idea what the market price is I find a large range between the usual KBB, edmunds and NADA books and am not sure which is more accurate. A car for example in Arizona:

2009 C2S Coupe
Black/Black CPO'd
6000mi
PDK, Spt Chrono, Full Leather Seats, Dimming Mirrors, Bose, Nav, Bluetooth, XM, Uni audio interface, Ventilated seats, Heated Seats

Plugging this car into the price sites for an excellent condition, CPO'd car I get

KBB: $71,379
NADA: $72,600
Edmunds: $64,758

Dealer asking price is $79,900

Big spread between various books and dealer asking prices. I need to get an idea what the cars actually sell for before I start making calls to dealers. Thanks for any advice.

That's a nice list of options... which can easily add up to the $20K delta you're seeing out there. If you can do w/o all these options then you should be able to find an example closer to what Edmund's is showing. Of course, condition of the car and the p-dealer's willingness to negotiate will also affect the final price. GL.

Well the thing is that's the price I get when putting in those options on edmunds & KBB (NADA just has PDK, power seats, bose and nav as avail options). If i unchecked those options at edmunds & KBB it would lower the prices~$5k so still the same difference.

Thing i've found is with the PDK cars available they all seem to be optioned with most of this except full leather seats. I do want a PDK car.

That's the conclusion i seem to be getting to based on the fact used 2011's are asking low-to-mid $80k's. It's a weird market for sure. The question is how do the dealers respond when you try to make a case that their prices are $10k+ too high?

Those are some of the most expensive options on these cars and KBB,etc, will likely not address their cost properly: PDK, Spt Chrono, Full Leather Seats, Ventilated seats, and CPO... You may want to consider getting a higher mileage car if you want to save some $$. These cars are very reliable provided you get a clean PPI and DME report. That p-dealer is charging you a premium price due to the low mileage, list of options, and CPO. IMO they'll likely get $72-75K for that car given that it's clean.

When I was looking for my 911 a few months ago I found that KBB and Edmunds were no help in establishing price on used 911s. There are just too few sales of them and too many price variables due to options.

Much better to look at places like e-bay, auto trader and cargurus to see what the current asking prices are.

Car gurus does have a feature that will graph recent prices. You can see how much variation there is due to milage and options. It will also tell youo how long a particular car has been on the market.

Here is an 09S graph, pretty wide price ranges to be sure

I agree, I just went through this, I bought mine last week, to me the extra paid for a 2010 C2S with only 3000 miles was worth it (It was basically a brand new car), to others it may not be. I would say if you got that car under $74K and it is perfect and the options/color you want go for it.

I noticed each year newer added about $5-7K and every 8-10K miles negated about the same. I personally started to look at 2010 and higher for the added year of CPO because my Budget was $80K.

Good luck, take your time, your will know your car when you see it.

Thanks everyone for all the info and comments, it's very helpful.

Would someone mind giving me an idea of what a fair offer would be on this car? I happen to like the Porsche Green which is apparently not a very widely liked color. Should work in my favor for a better price possibly. So this car has about 10k more miles than the black car I first posted, has less options (no Nav, no full leather seats, and no ventilated seats) and a less popular color. Dealer asking $71,970.

Be advised, that's a 'launch' car. Nothing wrong with the color, but these cars were used for the many test drives that were offered when the 997.2 first came out. It's PDK which means you don't have to worry about over revs, but I'd look for a more significant discount especially if they aren't offering a CPO. Low $60's...

I would not expect them to come down too much in price. They are the only Porsche Dealer in the whole state.

That being said, Kirk, one of the salesman there bent over backwards opening various cars up for me to test out seat comfort.

Ah, the kermit... those are very hard to sell and take forever to offload. offer 10k under asking, if you like green you are in a buyers market.

I guess I am one of the few who like Green, my actual favorite was an OAK GREEN METALLIC 76 Targa that I imported from DE in 84. I bought in from KREMER PORSCHE in Koln.
They had built up an engine to IIRC 3.2 for a customer, he traded it in IT WASN''T FAST ENOUGH!
Maybe not for Germany, but it was great in the US, unfortunately I had to sell it after a short time, the clutch was a BEAR, and driving in it LI to NYC traffic became too much to handle.
So, there are a few of us who like that....but as noted...not the easiest to sell

If you can, drive the car on a bright, sunny day and make sure the reflection of the sand biege dash doesn't bother you.
