sway bars - first impression
Just wanted to share my first impressions after installing GMG GT3/RS WC sway bars on my 2012 GTS with SPASM; it's a huge improvement! By the way, I have no affiliation to the company. I've also installed Tarrett drop links front and rear to dial out pre-load, and used the Tarrett rear adapter kit to not have to change the rear cross member.
After installing GT3 LCA's earlier this year, I experienced big issues with mid-corner-roll-oversteer on the track. I drive in black and push the car but found the suspension to be completely overloaded on MPSC running with 2.5f/2.0r camber.
I'm now starting with both bars set in the middle. For a start, I'm very surprised about how much stiffer the overall suspension feels, including compression, damping and body roll. It's a particularly positive improvement in body roll and consequently more and improved traction in taking curves. The only weird characteristics is increased understeer at very slow speeds in sharp turns, but when the car is driven properly and the suspension is under load the car behaves great.
I suspect that I will learn more during the first track day in the spring, but overall it seems like a great upgrade, even better than expected!
