Default DME Looks great to me, but I am a rookie, look good???

This car only has 3000 miles and would come with 4 years of warranty, but I asked for a DME report anyway.

This is what they gave me, I am used to the paper sheet, but I had to educate the sale manager on what a DME report was so I am not shocked.

Thoughts????

That report looks clean but how do you tie it to your car and the date and mileage it was pulled?

I was thinking the same, the fact he had no clue tells me they pulled for him today, it took a few days for them to get it to me. Also one part of the attachement he sent had the VIN so I know it is this car, but your right the mileage is not listed and neither is the total hours I was looking for.

That's been driven by the little old lady - buy it.
You have 4 years to run another scan and make sure it matches your car.

It is within the first 3000 miles, but that thing has been babied.

Nothing to worry about there at all.

Thank you all, I will ask for the running hours just to verify the mileage is not far off.

Test drive Thursday, I am testing this (997.2 S), a new 981 Boxster, S5 Cabrio, and more than likely a 2007 911 TT at the same dealer. I need to narrow down my search. 2013 S5 Cabrio is the conservative side of me. Boxster S I would order at 7% discount. 997.2 S and 2007 Turbo are where I am leaning now, but I change every day. TT has no CPO, but it is 1 owner with 16K miles.

I am hoping driving them back to back helps me at least throw 2 out the window.

Throw out the Boxster, not because it's not a great car, but relative to the other cars you're considering, I think it comes in last. Two reasons - it's last in performance, and you assume the new buyers depreciation hit.
Assuming the remaining 3 are comparably priced, I'd rate them like this:
1. Turbo - hands down
2 & 3. Tie with an edge to the 997.2 and the S5.
I think Audi is building compelling cars, and the S5 is one of them.

Did I read in another thread that the DME information can be cleared/reset off the computer by the reader/dealer? I'm also in the same boat, getting close to pulling the trigger on something, ppi, dme scan, etc.

I don't think it can be cleared off the car, although perhaps a complete replacement of the engine ECU would do that.
Porsche did change scanning machines, and the new machines could no longer do print outs of the DME scans, but can do screen captures like shown above.

you guys are nuts, the new boxster is a brilliant vehicle. You'd be a fool to exclude it.
