Default Atlas Grey

I have an Atlas Grey 997.1 C2S. I love the color but don't have too much info on it when people ask about it. From what I've been able to read it was a +$3000 upgraded color. I've also heard that it is rare (might have something to do with the upcharge) but I don't know how rare? Any idea on how many are out there? Any additional info out there on this color? Thanks.

Great color. Looks different depending on the light, from black to dark blue/grey. Not a $3000 option, more like $800, but I'll check my paperwork when I get home.

I love Atlas grey as well. It was a standard available color from Porsche and not a paint to sample.

I'm a huge fan too, one of the nicer Porsche colors.

Mattyf - can you post up a pic of your bi-color interior? I like the two tone.

Thanks MattyF. I appreciate the info. What year car do you have btw? Anybody know how rare the color is? Are there published numbers anywhere?

I've also got the Black/Stone Gray leather interior. Love it. There's a pretty good pic from my "Got it!" post here:

I don't remember exactly... I think in the earlier years Porsche charged only a few hundred dollars for Altas Grey as one of the optional colors; and later Porsche made Altas Grey as one of the few special colors, and rasied its price to $3,600 (I forgot the exact price. Any forumers with better memory than me, please correct me if it was differently.)

I guess then Altas Grey became rare, as its high special color price, I guess. I do love mine, it is very mesmerizing under bright sun lights (sometimes with a hint of blue, sometimes grey, sometimes black.)

Here is a recent thread about Altas Grey...https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...-the-diff.html

My car is an 2006. Not sure how rare they are, but for me it's one of those colors you can really fall in love with.

Here's a not so great shot of the interior with leather bits o' plenty. Been working late so it's been too dark to photo without flash. Perhaps this will be the impetus to go out this weekend and take more photos. I've been meaning to hit up the art district downtown.

The factory does not keep track of car colors. Of course, individual certificates of authenticity would ultimately tell you that, but no one gets those CoA for every car for a given year, and Porsche doesn't bother to track this sort of thing.

Edgy01 I get what you are saying. It's interesting though because you figure someone over there has to track it - maybe it just isn't published. You would think they need to know which colors are popular, etc to determine how many to produce and which new shades to pursue.
