Help Mod Muffler Sound 997 DIY
I have found many mods and names in Mufflers Mods search but not so clear about these mods and sounds. Can anybody comment please about these for a daily driver:
A) Nipple to Outlet to Inlet
B) Nipple to outlet
C) Inlet to Outlet
A) Nipple to Outlet to Inlet
B) Nipple to outlet

That last pic is the Gundo Hack. It's what I have on my car and sounds terrific. I have not seen the extra pipe you have on yours and honestly have no idea what that would sound like. Good luck. Post a clip if you bolt it on
Edit: The crossover pipe should be larger diameter than what you have in your first pic. closer to the OD of the stock pipes I would think. The larger the pipe the more noise(I would think)

Thanks guys, I have not done anything just browsing options. Yes I'm familiar with Gundo since it is the most popular, other options are once found on the web. Read about Nipple to outlet and said that mimics the PSE....

I had the second on my 996 and the third one on my 997. The first one looks like the two airflow channels will collapse in a head first collision and actually canceling each other out.
The third one is the FisterD and I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!

The "nipple" is part of the factory PSE exhaust pipe location. If you search for some pictures of the factory PSE muffler can you will see that they have 3 pipes coming out of the can. Instead of the inlet to outlet crossover. My guess is that the nipple is on the very first part of the muffler can before the first baffles take the exhaust flow, giving basically the same result as the inlet to outlet crossover. The factory PSE has a valve that is vacuum activated to shut off and open up this 3rd pipe. As I understand it. I'm not sure about adding this 3rd pipe, AND doing the xover from inlet to outlet. I'd like to hear it though.

OK here is the update!! Done #2 car sounds amassing, just a little more that stock, juice to your hears over 3.5 and 5.0 RPM, zero nuisance in low RPM. For me a daily driver a huge change without a headache at the end of the day.

Whatever Fister does I know it sounds great, still quiet and stock like inside the cabin until you rev it up! Buddy just installed on his 997.1 S and very happy.
It gives just enough, almost like the car should have come that way from the factory.

I would just do the FisterD as the quality is top notch. I've seen numerous posts form people who have taken it to the local muffler shop who do a sloppy job and use materials that wont last.
