Default Does C4S have a thicker rear bar?

Hi there

I could swear I've read the C4S on the 997 cars have a thicker rear bar compared to the C2S, I was wondering if anyone knows if this true?

If true will the C4S bar fit a C2S?

There's a bar in these cars??

Seriously, do you really want to mess with the factory setup. Remember, they actually designed your car and did all the engineering...

Yeah they designed understeer into the car.

A thicker rear bar shall help dial that out, basic chassis dynamics.

Gibbo, what you need is adjustable front a rear sway bars..like on the GT3 and GT3RS. However sways will not remove the understeer by themselves....it takes more than that and you will need to add GT3 lower control arms to get more negative camber up front.

Hi m8

I've got gen2 GT3 front and rear arbs. But the rear even on softest is too stiff, creating too much over steer. So now I'm back on C2S rear bar and front bar set to softest, it's quite nice actually, far less understeer than before as I do have GT3 lower arms too and a full GEO setup.

I just need a slightly stiffer Porsche rear bar, hence my question is the C4S bar thicker than C2S, if anyone knows?

Here is the info for the 2009 997.2 models. I'd bet it's the same for the 997.1 but can't say for sure. I don't know if the bars are interchangeable so I can only answer part of your question, but in general rear C4 bars are stiffer than rear C2 bars.

I said no earlier, but thinking about it, I'd guess the GTS and PASM sport chassis cars would have identical suspension specs.

The source of my info is the 2009 Technik Introduction for the Carrera models. Nothing on the GT3.....

Great info, the only 997.1 difference is that they did not come with PASM Sport, so the different sways for those were not included.
