Default My new jacking bars

Just completed these for putting my car up on jack stands. Probably overkill, but I didnt want much deflection in them.

Quarter inch thick tubing with hockey pucks secured by quarter inch bolts drilled & tapped into the tubing, Can easily take it up two more notches on the stands.

Time to watch the Alabama game . . .

Looks good. Where do you place the jack when jacking the car?

Good and strong, safe too. Is this for storage or servicing ?

Place the jack in the middle of the bar, jacks up one side of the car. Then insert the jackstands. Don't have to jack on the rear suspension or motor.

Very nice, where did you get the square tubing? Looks powder coated.

Clever!

What are the wood blocks for? Do you need to drive over them (not easy) to provide lifting clearance?

I just picked up a set of the aluminum pucks on ebay that you insert into the lift point and rotate 90 degrees. It wouldn't be too hard to mount them to the square tubing with a rotating joint. That way you could lock the tube to the jack points and then jack up the car. It might make it a bit easier to align the jack.

Very nice - I would like to know where you sourced the sqaure tubing (any steel fabricator)? It does look nice in Yellow - but I am biased.

I would love to make these for my car.

Not my idea.

Standard structural tubing size spray painted - the runs dont show in the pics.

Needed about 1/2" to get the jack under the tubing, so bought a board to drive up on (cut at 45 deg) then I remembered i have a jack and just cut square edged blocking, jack the car, place the boards, place bar, jack the bar, place jack stands.

That is very nice and it looks very stable and you could probably go up and another foot.

Seems scary to me while jacking up. Maybe would have been better if they where rectangular bars. And doesnt the car tilt to on side if you jack up in the middle sincenthe rear is heavier than the front? Scary dude.
