Decorative Wheel Logo/Stripes
I purchased these vinyl stripes in black from Suncoast with the intent to install on my Carrera Sport wheels on my Atlas Grey 2006 S. I had to contact Suncoast for the installation instructions which they dug up and sent me. The instructions suggest professional installation and the outer tire bead be broken, etc. I contacted Whell Enhancement here in LA and Ron's Tire and Wheel, both sophisticated tire / wheel shops and neither wanted anything to do with the job. The best they could offer was to remove the wheels and break the beads and allow someone else to install the vinyl stripes.
Has anyone had experience with this kit (997.044.650.00.041) and installation (DIY or professional)? should i keep looking for an installer or try myself ? The instructions say these are designed for the GT3 wheel whereas i want them on my Carerra Sports. The polished lip is 1" in width and the stripes appear to be 3/4" so may be possible to apply without breaking the tire bead. Any experience anyone has had would be welcome. they are not cheap ($229) so don't want to take a chance on ruining them.
thanks in advance.

Its simple, Ive done it many times on my bikes.
first of all, is it in one roll or pre-cut stripe sections? if it is in one roll, there are applicator available which makes it very easy to apply, check out youtube for install tips.
you shouldn't have paid that price, there are some very good quality available on ebay for 25$ in any color including the porsche decal.

jam996, thanks for your info. The stripe is one piece and was shipped to me mounted on a large rectangular mat (actually 4 of them). here is the link on Suncoast (http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...=997S_wheelacc). Mine are black,
Directions they sent me show two people holding the mat over the dismounted wheel to center the stripe on the lip. They also advised to break the outer tire bead away from the wheel which I'm not sure is necessary. the backing one one side is peeled off and then the entire circular stripe is centered over the rim with the "porsche" type opposite the valve stem. then the stripe is pressed gradually around the circumference by pressing through the remaining mat on the top side. if they were cheap i would try myself which i guess i will end up doing anyway as i am unable to find anyone who has experience with applying this particular strip kit made by Porsche.
