Need Help in Atlanta
Hi guys,
Does anyone live in Atlanta near Jim Ellis Porsche, 4006 Carver Drive, and would be willing to check out a pre-owned Carrera S for me?
I have been in discussions long distance, and I would appreciate if someone local could check out the car to see if it's as clean and pristine as they say, and give it a test drive for me.
Thanks.

Welcome to the Porsche boards. Common request and usually always someone willing to help out. If you don't get any love here post on the 993 board. It's a really active board and the folks over there do this a lot. If you post on the 993 board put in your title Rennfax request. That is their code for a fellow enthusiast needing someone to put eyes on a car for a long distance buyer.
Just tell them even though it's a 997 you would appreciate any help and heard the 993 gang was helpful with this kinda thing.

Pm or reply with the car's details and I'll give you as full a report as possible (and pictures of any concerns).
I just purchased my 2009 911 S at Jim Ellis in Septemnber. I know Michael McGregor and Ryan very well and would be happy to check it our for you this week. What color is it? I may have test drove it while I was looking there. I looked at multiple 911's from 2006 - 2009. Please let me know and I will check it out on Tuesday since it is suppose to rain on Monday.
I will check it out for you on Tuesday when the sun is shining. Get a better feel for the paint condition that way. I have a 2009 911 S manual as well so I will also drive it for you and let you know what I think. Sounds like a great car given the low miles.

Okay, but unless you have heard from the dealership that the car was sold, not being in the lot doesn't necessarily mean that it was sold. Jim Ellis often puts the pre-owned cars in the service area to have them CPO and detailed prior to selling. You really need to verify with the dealer that the car was sold before you give up on this one.
Jeffrec, I saw and test drove locally a meteor grey cab this weekend. A bit pricey, but I realize that I strongly prefer meteor grey over arctic silver. I think that I will wait for a better priced meteor grey cab. Appreciate your willingness to help -- I let the salesman at Jim Ellis know my color preference today, so let's see what happens. Again, thanks!
Fair enough JRW1, and I personally like meteor gray as well, however, I bought arctic silver because it shows fewer dirt, minor stone chips and scratches than any other color. If you need any further help in Atlanta just post a new post and I will see it. I check this forum daily. Good luck with the car search.
