GTS Seat Question
The GTS I drove (since sold) had the 12 way power seats. Most of the cars that I'm finding have the standard seat with the lever on the outside of the seat.
My question is this - does that lever raise and lower bottom of the seat? If so, does it just raise the back part of the seat bottom? In other words, does the rake of the seat bottom change?
I have back issues and I need a seat that tilts front to back as can be achieved with the power seats.
Thanks!

Manual seats have a lever on the side that raises then but doesn't tilt the seat bottom.

Hmm, I sat in a new Boxster today with manual seats and the lever raised/lowered the back part of the seat bottom, but the front edge stayed in basically the same spot (angle change). Was hoping the 997 did the same thing.

Maybe the new 2013 Boxster has different new style seats. I just know what manual 997 seats do....I had manual (sport version) on my 2009 Carrera S.

I've been getting used to the sport seat the more I drive the car, and I really don't want the extra weight of the full power sport seats, but, I've been thinking about doing research to see what it would cost to replace my seats for ones with full power adjustments.
Maybe someone here has researched this subject before?

Hmm, so when you pump the handle, the seat bottom moves up and down perfectly flat?
I found a low miles 2011 with power seats, but they want a 2012 price for it.

I'm confused. Do you want to buy a car with the adaptive seats or just the seats and put it in some other car? When I was looking to buy my car, lots of cars had the adaptive seats. If you buy a car with the standard seats, make sure that the adaptive seats can be wired into the car. I have a feeling that you can't add the adaptive seats to a standard seat car.

I can't find a 2012 GTS cab, white black, with any seats other than the standard manual seats. With my bad back I need a seat that allows me to tilt down and back. Just trying to establish if that seat bottom lowers in the back like the Boxster manual seat does.

There's several with the power seats on the porsche used car finder. Not all dealers use cars.com or autotrader. This is how I found a great deal on my GTS.

Mark,
I just went down to the garage and checked the angle on the manual sport seats in my GTS. I took the seat all the way up with the manual lever and zeroed a level on the seat surface. I then put the seat all the way down with the lever and took another reading. From the top setting to the bottom the change in angel was an additional 4.5 degrees of tilt downward and to the rear. So if you start at he bottom there would be a rise in the rear relative to the front as the seat is raised.
I can appreciate your concern with a bad back. I have 7 fused levels with more titanium parts than a GT3 engine. I have no issues with the manual sport seats in my GTS.
