Point of caution: I don't think these won't fit w/ PCCB's.

Thanks for posting... that is very interesting. Do you have a C2 or C2S? Could not tell by the pic so I just want to make sure it will fit the larger C2S brake calipers. I assume it is limited to 50 mph/80 km speed. Does it work on the rear as well? have you road test it?

I have a C2 but for sure its gonna fit a C2S and turbo easily since the brake calipers on a VW toureg is twice the size,And pretty sure it's gonna fit the rear cause it has a smaller calipers.

It's nice to know the bolt pattern is the same. However, as stated earlier, the PCCBs will be an issue for the few of us with them.

Kerlow....do you have it secured in the trunk or it just fits snugly? What do you do with the flat? I notice you have a coupe (observant huh).....will it fit in your car after the switch?

Thanks in advance.

What's the inflated OD (outside diameter)? Or what's the circumference?
As a front tire I don't think it will matter, but for the rear don't want to overheat the diff/trans oil with two badly mismatched tires should I need to continue some distance at speed

But great find!

Kerlow....continuing.......do you know if it'll fit in the trunk in the 4s........given the slightly smaller space?

Sorry for the additional question.

Hi Tom when the spare is in the trunk I have 6"+ of space on the side,as far as securing it I have not tackled that problem yet,i have seen the DIY thou and it looks pretty straight forward.i will be using it on long trips only cause the spare weights 70lbs easily.

195/75/18 is the spare size the VW touareg has 22"wheels and when the spare is fully inflated the VW is level.

The spare tire kit from suncoastparts includes a 185/60R17.

Wondering how much this matters.

(disclaimer - my math might be off so if someone wants to check me that would be great)

Running some numbers around my base rear tires, 295/30R19
A 185/60R17 is nearly identical in size being 0.7" off in overall circumference.
A 195/75R18 is 11" off in circumference! That's 90 revs per mile difference between the inflated spare and the stock tire that the diff would have to compensate for. For me, that's too much and suspect it would add unnecessary wear or overheat the trans oil.

So IMO, while it might mount up I wouldn't run it on the drive wheels. The front of a C2 wouldn't be a problem but of course that won't be the one that goes flat...

Thanks Kerlow....that makes a lot of sense! Didn't realize they weighed so much.
