Old technology..overpriced....loud.. absolutely crap in the rain and cold weather.
Other than that they are OK.

The PSS is cheaper and better in every area.

 

I have these as OEM on my GTS. I plonked them better so far in 10,000 mes than the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 I've had before. However when time comes to replace ill get the Michelin Super Sports or Yoko Advan

 

I have 9000 miles on a set on my GTS. To answer your questions:

Pros:
1. They are mostly round.
2. They are black.
3. They hold air and support the weight of my car.
4. They look like they will last forever.

Cons:
1. They are noisy.
2. They have little grip.
3. They combine low grip and poor ride.

I and others in my PCA region refer to them as "CRAPirelli's"

I love mine on the 991. I'm an old fart and haven't tracked them. Porsche must like them a whole lot cuz they come on every 991. I've always thought of them as pretty smart guys.

This is my second OE set (two different 911s). Both sets have tons of grip in the dry, but don't do well in the wet. We have Michelin Pilot Super Sports on my wife's A3. While it's not a sports car, it's still enough to convince me to put them on all my cars when the OE tires wear out.

 

If you are talking about PZero (and not PZero Rosso), they are really good tires (while Rosso not so much), they are OEM on Audi R8 and some Ferraris and Porsche.

From my own driving and tracking on these, they are actually really good. On-par performance with PS2 and better than RE050, while due to age, possibly not as good as new MPSS.

 

I agree with the comments from Chris and Alex above; the PZero (not Rosso) is a good dry weather tire and has performed well for a street tire in a couple of autox's when I've been too lazy to swap to my MPSCs. It may not compare to the latest Michelins, but IMO it's definitely not a bad tire.

 

I'm talking P Zero.... Not the Rosso. P Zero is not that bad but for the money the Michelin Super Sport or the Yoko Advan seems to be the way to go

 

Michelin Pilot Super Sports are the BEST TIRE ON THE MARKET

They would be even better once they get a Porsche N spec but that will probably only raise the price on them. I can't wait to get a set onto my Spyder!

 

The p-dealer put new p-zero Rosso's on the CPO'd car I purchased last year. I only have 8.5K miles on them. They are noisy but my exhaust kinda drowns that out. Can't wait to replace them all with MPSS.

 

How do you figure they would be better with the N Spec rating? Seriously? All that bunch of crap BS marketing from Porsche does is drive the price up on tires. I hope Michelin tell Porsche to go pound sand about that N Spec junk because Michelin will sell tires just fine.

 

I had them on my 360's (never a Porsche) and hated them. They wear extremely quickly, are noisy and are very expensive. I much preferred Mich Pilot Sport PS2 which seemed to give me decent performance and much better tread life.
