Seems like you are still having issues with your battery and PDK. If you are not happy with your local Dealer's action, try contacting Porsche HQ:

1-800-PORSCHE (1-800-767-7243)
Porsche Cars North America
980 Hammond Drive
Suite 1000
Atlanta, Georgia 30328

Ask for a customer service group. They are generally very good and responsive.

Good luck!

Is your car still under original warranty or CPO, if so- then you should have no problems getting this replaced.

I had some push back from a terrible first time dealer experience, then after i drove in my car with the tech and pointed out the issues, the finally agreed to replace it.

When I first got my car, I received a lot of expert advice from some great guys here and over at 6 Speed about what to look for and among them- the PDK rebuild/ replacement due to rough shift points specifically on hills. Initially my driving was only on the highways here in the bay area then I started to notice some rough shifting downtown SF on the hills. They weren't really significant, however, I wanted the problems rectified.

In addition, as I was decelerating from higher speeds above 45 mph down to around the 1000rpm pt, I would hear a thud/ or knocking sound. This sound is not noticed when decelerating at lower speeds. The dealer said the sound was from changing gears by the shift forks.

I plan on taking it in soon to another dealer to validate these findings as I still hear the knocking sound just to confirm if it indeed is normal. My experience with Porsche of Stevens Creek and their advisor was so terrible I just wanted my car back and not deal with them anymore.

Hope that helps..

Try Sonnen Porsche up in Mill Valley. Their service manager, Andew Ratto, is excellent.

Yeah they are in process of reprogramming the PDK computer and then going to take for test drive. They already replaced the ECM prior to this.

I had my PDK replaced by Porsche of the Village. When I changed the oil at 2000 miles the tech noticed that the PDK was leaking. It was cleaned, inspected and I was asked to drive it for a few more weeks. When I next brought the car in the tech found the leak again from the same place. He filed a report and within a week I had a new PDK in my car.

It's interesting that the new one shudders a bit just after the trans drops back into first gear, car at operating temp. The original one did not have that characteristic.

Picked it up and everything seems fine after PDK trans recalibration and thud when stopping gone. Fingers crossed. Justin and all at Walter's Porsche were great!

Great news!

On the thud at stopping- going away, did you have the same thud I did where it is observed during deceleration from above 45mph down to at about 1000rpm? As I mentioned I still have that sound which the crappy dealer said is normal due to shift forks changing gears.

Are the dealers servicing the PDK tranny's directly yet... initially it seemed that all of PDK trannys were being shipped back to Germany and rebuilt at the factory. Also any insight re cost of replacement? TIA

They are now servicing directly at dealer. The factory had to ship them a device to enable them to update the ECM computer.

USMC-

Yep, this was the process with mine as well. Not sure on the price as I had mine done under warranty.

VG, thanks for the response... BTW, when my p-dealer gave me some BS about my issue with a loose steering column I asked to test drive another 911 on their lot with the mech to illustrate the difference btw "normal" vs. my car. After test driving my car with a tech we didn't even need to try another car on the lot for comparison... the tech told the SA to right it up properly = stop the BS. Not sure if this approach would help with your PDK issue but GL and let us know the outcome.
