Default Whay did your car come with new...

I purchased my 06 C2S used and was wondering what came in the little clip next to the two CD cases in the glove box? Was it an ink pen or maybe a pencil type tire pressure gauge, or just empty? I have a dealer pen there now but was curious what occupied the space when you purchased new?

Porsche doesn't give you much of anything for free any longer. Of course, mine was empty. Porsche used to normally provide a nice manual tire gauge (by VDO) and a few other little trinkets, but as they are watching their pfennigs we see few freebies today. At least I got two free tanks of gas (one in Zuffenhausen and one in Santa Barbara), and a factory plate frame. Oh, and a couple of clear side markers from my stateside dealer!

I think the Finance girl would have given me her phone number for free if I had asked for it, but I didn't, so I asked her for her Porsche pen instead.

Yes, and the number would have likely been worth the price you paid...

I believe the manual says it is a pen holder.

The F430 F1 comes with a Ferrari Pen, complimentary, pre-clipped in and ready to, um, write. There, now you know why you're paying +$200k!

My new 1986 944 Turbo came with a tool kit and air compressor that plugged into the lighter (actually worked well). My new 997.2 S Cab came with NOTHING

They must like me, I got an umbrella installed in the slot by the passenger door, a battery maintainer and a Porsche pen in the holder.

There are pens and there are pens.

You pay ~$100K for a Porsche you get a $0.25 pen, if you're lucky. You pay $200K+ for a Ferrari and also get a pen, a Ferrari branded pen. The thing is, I was in a shop in Aix en Provence in 2004 and saw Ferrari pens in a display case - the cheapest one was 500 Euros (in 2004 that would have been $630)

As for me, I got clear side markers and hat - but it was a nice hat.

I got 2 PCNA Porsche Pens, complimentary first annual service, and a PCA membership (which all new car buyers may get, for all I know.)

The discount off the sticker is what really matters, let's not forget. Mine was massive.
