Default WTB: 997.2 side mufflers

I want to do the FD muffler mod but have been unable to find any on ebay and they don't have a core exchange available. Since I'm in NY it'd be a 3 week turnaround, so I don't want to pull mine.

So if you have any that you don't want o keep for going back to stock, or would be willing to swap for mine once I have the FD version installed (kind of a 3rd party core exchange), let me know.

Stef, I new to the 997. I have a 2011 997.2 and would like to upgrade the mufflers (just for better sound) What are FD mufflers?

Hi Bandit, welcome.

Do a search here on 'gundo hack' and 'fister'. Basically you connect the input and output pipes to get largely the same effect as the PSE (Porsche Sport Exhaust). The gundo hack is done at a muffler shop with sometimes dubious results, whereas Darin Fister of FD motorsports (http://fdmotorsports.net/category/fister-exhaust-997) does a very nice job for not very much money. The other popular way to go is to get a Tubi - tad bit more pricey. Also, you'll want to get rid of your center muffler wit a sharkwerks x-pipe.

Have fun!

You guys need to buy the primary muffler bypass too in order to get the full affect. Fabspeed makes the x-pipe.

X-pipe is already on there. Used sharkys. Improvement, but not quite enough.

Scored a set, so hopefully I have aural ecstasy in a couple of weeks

Larry,
How much are you asking for your exhaust?
If it's in NJ, I might be interested in a local pick-up.

Thanks in advance,
Bill
