Thanks Edgy. I may take you up on that offer. I'm working on some stuff right now. I have 3 email addresses, a phone number, and a physical address to start with. No idea which if any or all are bogus. I'd LOVE to take a trip to california with my three 'little' brothers to personally accept a refund... bahaha

I've seen plenty of people this has happened to and have tried to involve the law. Lets just say they could give a **** less about your mistake. Feds and police have a lot more to worry about than Internet fraud unfortunately. The Ot thing you can do is file a theft report with local police and cross your fingers. As the other person mentioned, if you used your debit/credit card to send the funds then you can dispute the transaction and your creditor/bank will instantly refund the money. I use my cc only with PayPal bc I don't even file a complaint with PayPal anymore since they are such a joke. I just simply dispute and my bank just yanks it back from PayPal.
Hope that helps you buddy. Good luck

go to court, small claims is good up to $5k so you can win there. it is the only option.
DUDE! why, why did you deal with some idiot who has no credentials? Dan Doman just took apart his race car and has new m96 motor with gearbox for $10k. only deal with those who are well known in this community. all you had to do was to ask, there are always deals and engines around.

Now I don't feel so bad. I was only screwed on a set of $1200 wheels on eBay. But that was an item where the pics weren't of the wheels I received. At least I have the wheels to try and recoup some of my purchase amount (hopefully). Warning: Even if eBay finds in your favor on an item being not as described (as was the case in my situation), it is still your expense to return the item(s) with a signature guarantee (an added expense over delivery confirmation which is all the seller had to do). So be very, VERY careful buying a big heavy item on eBay, because you are going to have to pay $400 (or more) to return what you received if you get lied to about the condition, like I did.
My 2 cents.... In cases like this eBay should provide return labels. If they're going to facilitate transactions, and collect substantial feels on the transactions, they have to figure out a way to make the return process fair to the wronged purchaser.

I am sorry to here about your situation. If this is the same guy that I am thinking of, he says he is in California. I was also exchanging emails with him about purchasing a 3.6l 997 engine after my engine got destroyed. I decided in the end to shift the car as is.

Because I don't have $10K. Only reason I had $6K was because I took a payout on the insurance for the damage to the car from hail. A driving car was more important than a pretty car. I just need to sell this car so I can get on with life and try and catch up on some debt.
if he indeed is in USA it should be possible to get him. at least it is worth to try.

If your paypal account is link to a credit card start with your credit card company. If it linked to your bank account then you are going to have to cross your fingers and hope paypal helps. File a police report now. If you wait then is it going to look more and more like it was a gift. Start saving and printing emails with the header information. As long as you have him stating the sale in a email and him accepting the paypal you will have a strong court case and info to give paypal and or your credit card company. as other have said hopefully he is in the US.
Good luck and let us know the outcome.

This is the same guy who had the motor on eBay, he goes by beau.
I know exactly what motor this was, he screwed a guy for gt3 parts earlier this year.
His eBay user name is "atmydeskbidding".
