Default Missing access panel under the front bumper!

Dear friends,

I own a 2011 911s. I was cleaning my car today and noticed that a small rectangular [parallelogram] piece of body work is missing. The part is rather small 2 inches by 4 inches under the passenger front side below the bumper. There are three circular holes next to it. I'm guessing it is painted to match the bodywork.

I don't have a parts list to recognize it. Any ideas? the nearest Porsche dealer is 65 miles away and would like to save some time and order it!

You are probably referring to this area. Don't worry--I believe it is left open so that your horns are audible!

Always remember that Porsche generally does things for a reason.

Thanks for the answer here. I asked exactly the same question over on 6speed and was told that it is open space, but not for any particular reason. This makes sense!

Dan,
Is there a link for the source of your front lip skid pad ? I have searched for it but have not been able to find it online.
Thx, Dave

Dan,

you have a little bit of mud splatter on your wheel well. Suggest you clean that up.

Sadly, I do not believe that the ABS plastic (black) skidpad is still available from the source (Automotion, I believe). I recall ordering it while waiting for the boat to arrive with my car on it (Fall 2006). You could probably replicate it yourself--there is nothing complex about it. (I did wind up adding a few more fasteners to it as the original design was typical--cheap--less hardware, so less expense. You really need the number that I put on.)

Mud in the wheel wells?? I will have to talk to my staff about that oversight!!
