Does anyone know if i can use a 996 spare tire for my 09 C4S? I have regular brakes not PCCBs. I just don't feel safe driving long distance without at least a spare tire, call me old fashioned.

I have the 996/boxter spare in my boot with the jack and tools packed into the rim. The biggest downside so far is not having a trunk anymore to hold stuff. But usually any bags I have end up in the back seat or passenger footwell anyway.

As Dan indicated, the next step is what you guys plan to do with the wheel and tire you remove? I am curious as I have had this conversation with myself a couple of times.

Check out the attached link for definitive proof that a rear flat tire fits behind the back seat of a Coupe with steel brakes.

I have the collapsable spare wheel in the front with jack/tools. etc. I also have super heavy duty black plastic bags and latex gloves. My rear fat tire (305/19) fitted behind the passenger seat with no problems.
You still get some room on the front trunk since the collapsable wheel can go vertical instead of leaning...

Thanks for the link. I could change a tire, but I am not sure I am strong enough to get the flat tire on the original wheel through the door opening and into the back seat area without tearing up the upholstery and on top of that I rarely travel long distances with that much unused space in the car.
To the Original Poster....let us know what you decide.
