I don't understand how someone could just forget about it!!! He now has to front the bill...not everyone has extra cash around for some girlie man to key your car. Then you have that on the back of your mind after getting repainted that some a__ hole is just waiting to do it again. Plus he has to park outside on top of it all.
This just pisses me off has happened to me too many times...and I never have gotten over it. I vented..

God, I hate sheep! And you are a sheep. "Just forget about it and have it repainted".

Go to the butcher shop and buy a backbone. Your genes were never at the foundation of any nation of consequence if you ask me.

So... without knowing the source of the damage, just who do you suggest he vent his anger toward?

Re: Audi keyed, vandalized.
Personally, I would not waste my time directing anger towards anyone since, as you point out, the source of the damage will probably never be discovered, especially if it occurred in any of our nanny states. You have no control over that flaccid, laxidasical law-enforcement attitude.
But what he could control, since Texas was mentioned, is that he joins the tens of thousands of top-earners and corporate owners who have migrated to Texas in the last few years for better living conditions, better jobs and better law enforcement. Plus we “nut jobs” have no state income tax. If you work hard and earn it, we believe that you should keep most of it, not give it away to the illegals next door. That is a nutty concept to some of you I am sure!
Do crimes occur here? Yes, they do. But we don’t sit around handing out jars of *aseline advocating that the sheep bend over and enjoy it. We don’t advocate that the victim should just accept it. We also give responsible citizens the right to carry a concealed handgun. Amazing how the carjacking, home invasions and other crimes have decreased.
So for you sheep, please, stay right where you are. But send your more intelligent neighbors on down our way.
Welcome to Texas, ya’ll.

Bill.....just stop casting those pearls of rationality....
Can't you see that.....it's ANGER that counts.
Angry people acting angry achieved all that's glorious in this world.
Like talk radio.

Let's see, this happens on a Saturday at the Pumpkin Patch.
What are the chances that some little kid did this?
50/50 at least? Death Penalty!!!!!!

Hella - Sorry for you man. It's a pain.
It'll get put back right though. Most guys here are really helpful. Great suggestions / recommendations.
Good luck. Enjoy the kids, Haloween, and the good life.

Ok guys, I got an estimate if $1200 today from the hop recommended by the Audi dealer. They said they'd need to paint the door and blend into the rear quarter panel. My deductible is $500 and although it sux, it must be fixed for my own peace of mind.

This thread is starting to go off the rails. It was probably a kid and if not then it was someone who has much bigger problems than I do. That doesn't mean I woul have stop by and watched but having not been there, it's pointless to rant on about the fall if humanity and government shortcomings.

Thanks for the helpful posts guys.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

That is my only point. If it is lost on you, well, sorry.

Not lost, just not a rational expenditure of thought given that I didn't see it happen.

Actually... upon seeing the 'artwork', the word child was the first thing that came to mind. It looks like a child's drawing. Not only that, but most 'adults' who would do this would not squat down and make circles... they usually just walk along side the car and drag a key in a line. Believe me, I've seen the aftermath of a random keying many times. But don't get me wrong... I do see Datura's point, and frankly, I wish concealed carry were an option in So Cal. After the fact though, to disparage someone for their understanding that it is a crime for which no perpetrator will be found, and coming to grips with the fact that carrying the anger around will serve only to raise one's blood pressure, is a rather childish response.

And, by the way... moving to Texas does not ensure that no one will ever key your car again. Just saying.

Holy crap. Hair catch fire much there Datura?

Hella - my experience is that the real art is in the clearcoat.
You might ask a few questions around that.
Both the application and the "blending" make or break the overall quality of the final look.
Keep the right attitude. Clearly, you get it.

Bill - everything's perfect in Texas. I know because people are always shouting that at others.

Enjoy that great looking car of yours.

Thanks Tom...

I had the chance to move to Texas about 4 years ago with the company, but that was Midland/Odessa. No Effin' Way!

I am indeed enjoying the Carrera! And, I already have one foot on the 'slippery slope', and the other on a banana peel! lol

To say this thread has gone off the rails is an understatement and I hate to contribute to that, but I'm really curious. Assuming that you don't want to wait around for the Rangers to deal with it in a non-flaccid way, if you catch a 10 year old keying your car at a Pumpkin Patch in Texas, do you shoot him?

If not, then all this stuff about handguns, nanny states, bending over, and sheep is pretty much irrelevant.

My final say on this matter is by looking at the evidence, someone has stood there in one spot keying the car while watching, looking.

Remember its a pumkin patch not a Man-United soccer game.
I couldn't leave it go I would have to go back and talk to the home owners with conviction

You know....I recently had to get some work done on my wifes car and I went to the dealer's recommended repair shop. In my case it was a mistake because the dealer's shop wasn't in my insurance company's preferred network. Plus, I found out that the dealer gets a kickback which isn't in my interest at all. Nonetheless, my point is just make sure the shop is in the insurance network because if you have problems with quality you'll be able to get the insurance company to leverage the repair shop and hold payment.
