Ouch, that sucks. Same thing happened to my X5 the other day. It disgusts me that someone would do this to someone else's property.

I just got keyed at work a few weeks ago, no way anything near as bad as yours. They keyed about a 4 inch in length line at the Porsche crest on the hood. I was lucky and did not go to deep. Took to a retailer $20.00 bucks 20 min. And it was as good as new. He did say any deeper I would have had done a respray of the hood. Will your insurance take care the problem? Even at $500.00 deductible it's better than the full amount. Good luck.. I bet you couldn't sleep all night!

Was the car garaged for most of it's life? The reason that I ask is that if it has been there will be less paint fade do to sunlight, thus more difficult to tell if you just spray the door. Sorry to hear, bro.

unfortunately, I have no garage. I have a carport that's surrounded by trees so it's seen limited sunlight.

Send the bill to the whitehouse. They seem to have gone out of their way the last three years to fuel hatred of those of us who actually work and succeed.

I had to stay at a hotel out of town and asked for a secure area to park. Next morning I came out to the car, and the door and hood had been keyed. Needed respray. I think it's just something to expect and feel good if it doesn't happen.

You make a good argument for promoting more of a return to personal responsibility and individual initiative.
People who think it smart to depend on government have become subjects of that government.
Good Lord willing I'll always be a citizen.

Sorry about your A3... i read something about "remember, mean people aren't mean because they are happy."
I'm pretty sure that a proper body shop can make it good as new.
What's w/the political soapbox in a thread where someone was a victim of vandalism? People will get their car vandalized no matter who's in office.

I've lived in questionable areas most of my life and have been spared the key until now. The funny thing is, we live in a nice neighborhood where our year old A3 is like the "town hooptie". So, the elementary school is tucked back into this quiet neighborhood that get's besieged whenever there is a function, as well as every morning and afternoon. If I had to put money on it, I say it was the people who live in the house we parked in front of.
Life isn't fair and I've mostly ended up on the winning side of the coin toss so I'll just fix it and move on knowing that someone has a karma debt to pay.

There have always been haters, and there will always be. Sorry about your wife's car Hella. Just have it repainted, and forget about it. That's about all you can do at this point, unfortunately. As you said, at least be glad it wasn't your 911.
