Default WTB: Black center console + Black ashtray assembly

Mine are a bit scratched up, and I'd love to replace them. If you are changing yours out for carbon fiber or something else. Sell me your originals in nice condition. Non-smoker a strong plus.

Get it painted by Eric@Bumperplugs... probably same cost of someone trying to sell a used black center console, and it would look way better!

My only concern is that this is my dd, so I cannot really be without a center console.

Eric can arrange to send you a painted one, and do a core-exchange... so you won't lose any time driving around without a console. 100% a better option than a used console that might just look as bad!

Can we have some pictures? How badly is it scratched? I'm willing to bet it can be buffed out.

Eric is the way to go. You email him your color code, he prepares a console for you, ship it to you, you install and pack your scratched console and send it back to him. Pretty simple, awesome looks and pretty cheap if you ask me. I did it with my speed yellow 996 and now with my black 997.

Have Eric do it. It will be so much better than stock, and I'm sure he can do it without delaying you a single day. Of course, the alternative is to have it covered in leather. (This is the direction that I went, realizing that some parts of the 997 interior are just too vulnerable to wear than others--and have to be covered with something more durable).

Here's a picture of the console as it stands. Ideally I would like any replacement to look stock rather than aftermarket or altered.

Is that the center console in a 997 Turbo? (No leather?)

Yup. Right out of 2007 997.1 Turbo. I have leather pretty much everywhere else, but my center console is the coated plastic stuff.

Painted by Eric, doesn't look aftermarket, it's exactly as if you ordered it with "Console painted exterior color" at the time of order. He'd use the same factory paint as you car, I will take a picture of mine and share later, everyone loved the new look.

The only other option is to order a brand new console, which probably costs you more, I would NOT use another used console that may look just as bad!

Now, with the idea of using a leather console per edgy01, what does that typically cost? Is it something I purchase, or have made for me?

Whew! I almost fainted! That's far more than I want to spend for this project.

If the budget is tight, take a look at Eric's stuff. Maybe he can make a custom satin black for you...
