I have a 997.2 S not a 991. But FWIW, I wouldn't think of getting a 991 now knowing that I really want a GT3 in a year or 2, so what you're asking wouldn't be an issue. Still, there's no doubt that my car has a lot of life left in it, I still love it, and it will cost a bundle to "upgrade", so in that sense I guess I am willing to take a monetary "loss".
So why do it? I can't rationalize it except to say that I'm 62, I want a more track oriented, harder edged car, and want to enjoy it while I still can. Also, while we're in a golden age of performance right now, IMHO, with stricter fuel and other regs around the corner it can't last forever. I want to get a new GT3 while it's still possible. Logical? Maybe not. Emotional? Probably. But life is short, there are no guarantees, and since I can, I most likely will.
