I was on a trip on Highway 395 in the Sierras and drove at times 130. On the way home did the same but when I got into this small hick town after looking around as always at the light I took off and immediately was pulled over for exibition of speed. Heck I didn't even get to the speed limit! Of course the only vehicles around me were semi's and pickup trucks so I believe I stuck out like a sore thumb. Hey a rich guy in a Porsche what do I do, Oh yeah pull him over. And this was first road trip!

Yep, & I live in Texas, lol.
Cost me mucho dinero to get it taken care of without having to go back.

I was lucky and only had to do traffic school on line! It took me 15 minutes.

California allows you to dismiss a speeding violation ticket with only a 15 minute on-line course?? That sounds incredibly lenient for such a control-freak nanny state.

Virginia is ridiculous. I once got a ticket for driving with a radar detector and I was driving below the speed limit with my cruise control on. Cop admitted I was not speeding but I guess he couldn't resist the out of state plates and the easy revenue.

In California if you haven't had a ticket in two years you can go to traffic school. I've done this many times through the years. This time I was informed that I can do a website school. They allow you to scan through it as many times as you want and who couldn't get a 100 on a test like this and finish it in 15 minutes! Yeah I thought it was real stupid and way too easy!

I was caught well into triple digits in northern va and had to get a high priced lawyer to keep the jail time low. Spent 3 days in the Fairfax Jail and 1200 dollar fine, 60 day loss of license. It was considered an excellent deal.

First Prosecutor tried to give me 25 days. I refused and filed a continuance for the second hearing for that sentence.

Simple answer: it's not. Except that VA state laws says 80mph+ or anything 20 over the limit is automatically reckless. It's ridiculous, but I tell you what: I definitely watch my speed when getting close to +20/80.
