It seems to me that all cars make noises as they age. In the green car it sounds like a little bird is stuck inside the vent when AC is on. Probably the little fan inside, I guess. The Fister helps drown it out. In the blue car, the dashboard sometimes squeeks, but only at a specific RPM. The solution is to either go faster or open the sunroof. No, these are not fixes; only solutions.

The whistling mirror is a known issue. Porsche has a service bulletin on this. I had mine fixed under warranty. Not sure what they did exactly, but the very loud whistle from both mirrors was gone for good. It would be worth inquiring with your dealer.

I have the same noise and mine is 12' 997.2, so next time I see my service department I better remember mentioning this again.
