Default (Semi) Solid Motor Mounts

I have read several posts/articles on the benefits of installing aftermarket semi-solid motor mounts. better shifting, better feel in corners, better balance, etc, etc. the only "downside" if any was a slight vibration felt at idle. All of the manufacturers claim their mounts eliminate any knock sensor issues found with full solid motor mounts

I have found WEVO, RSS Tarmac Performance Series mounts the most widely offered (I'm sure there are others). Even though I have yet to track the car or do a DE event, I am interested in the other stated benefits of this mod.

So, does anyone want to offer up their experiences or recommendations on the current offering of aftermarket motor mounts? Standing by.

I have the WEVO's, I have been very, very happy with them.

If anything, the small amount of added vibration gives the car a "sportier" feel. I would not say it is obnoxious by any means.

It never triggered a knock sensor alarm in my case.

Hope this helps,

T.

Inexpensive upgrade. Are they easy to install?

I'm also curious to hear feedback on this mod...a lot of gt3 owners do this as its more track focused

I have the Wevo's as well. Love 'em. The car feels more 'alive' with a bit more vibration felt at low RPM. But never uncomfortable. To be fair, I don't know that I feel any difference in engine pitch when hard/abrubt cornering. But I have Bilstein's and H&R's (don't buy these bars - way to heavy) and Cup tires and thus it is quite tight overall.
ANd one of the easiest installs of any mod. One floor jack is all you need and some long sockets on your ratchet (if I'm recalling correctly).
A very low-brainer.

I saw the bolts when I installed my new Fisters. Does anyone know if there is a DIY on this site or another site?

Very easy to install.

Check this DYI:
https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...my-engine.html

You can use your jack to manage the slack in the bolts.

Hope this helps,

T.
