I just bought a 2007 Carrera S with only 14,500 miles. I am a complete newbie to the Porsche world and lovin it. However, what service is required because the service indicator just came on? All I know about the history is from the Carfax. At 9,300 miles, it had its recommended maintenance w/ a brake fluid flush.

Thanks for your help.
Be more specific about the warning, as there are a number of warnings, going from reminding you about service intervals to the dreaded "take to workshop".
Could be an oil change reminder, a low fluid level, etc. Brake flush is usually a 2 year interval if you don't track it, and I don't think there's an alarm for that, anyway.
Read your manual, check your fluid levels And get familiar with your car. Oil level is fun as you get learn that extra lever on the lower left hand side of the steering wheel, and you can find out all kinds of info, like your current tire pressure with that stalk.
Welcome and enjoy your new ride- these are amazing cars
The on-board computer is just showing the wrench and says service now. I just read the maintenance manual and it looks I might be due for a minor service which is recommended every 2 years or at 20,000 miles. What should I expect to pay?

What you stated is Porsche's recommended oil change interval on 997.1's, I think. I never let it go that long - 10k miles max, or every year if I didn't put that many miles on the car.
You mentioned some service work done on the car recently. They may have changed the oil, but didn't reset the oil change clock.
