Default hit two birds on the way home

I was driving on my favorite stretch of road on my way home and I was hauling butt around the corners when I spot 3 little morning doves sitting on the road. Going 70. Ain't swerving. One managed to get away. Popped the first then the second. Lots of feathers. Get home and a Wing is stuck under my right headlight. Thank God for clear wrap. Kids were mad.
Car is scratched.

Make sure to check deep in the bowels of your radiators to make sure none of the rest of the bird ended up there. I noticed a slight temp creep recently on my car and found a bird in there. When I hit it I didn't think to check, but there he was a couple months later.

Did that in Italy a couple of years ago, and I'm still upset....not about the scratch to my car, but about killing the bird, albeit unintentionally.

A crow once flew straight into my windshield, I think the blazing heat at that time was a factor for why it looked like it was committing suicide. I felt bad for weeks but there was nothing I could have done, swerve and hit a car and possibly injure someone else?

You did the right thing by not swerving, sometimes fate plays the cruel hand. Is the scratch on the paint or the clear bra? I hope the cars okay!

Be thankful it wasn't a deer. Or a moose.

I hit one going about 15 mph in an alley and still exploded into feathers. But I think it lived.

Scratched the clear coat. Glad I have it. I hunt so dead critters are part of life. I don't kill unless I am planning to eat them and clearly not going to do that, so feel a little bad but that's just the way things go
Will check the radiators
Thanks

When I lived in Hawaii, I came up on two Mynah birds doing it in the middle of my lane. I nailed the one on top and the one on bottom flew off. lol

Don't feel bad... it happens and good that you're safe. We had one somehow fly thru/between the upper and lower arms of my passenger side view mirror last year. Night time drive doing posted 70 mph. Scared the poop out of my wife. Blood and feathers all over her side of the car. Try to soak the areas affected with detailer's spray and pull the debris off with a micro cloth so you don't scratch the paint any more than it already is by the bird.

perhaps you should consider changing your user name to " Little Red".

I found a dead bird in my radiator opening once. It was really small and dried out. I suspect it may have been in there for at least a couple of years. Never knew I hit him.

I once had a cardinal fly past my windshield only to be hit by a Suburban traveling in the opposite lane. The way it exploded was like a firework. If it hadn't been so shocking it would have been really neat.

i have done this before only had a cop in the process of pulling me over from behind. i wasnt swerving to avoid (bcuz i was so pssed about getting pulled over) and thought the flock would get out of the way but feathers everywhere. also it didnt look great for how fast i was going if birds dont even have the chance to get out of the way. officer asked if i had just hit birds and i confirmed, i think he was surprised as i was birds didnt fly. only damage was to wallet.
