Default Grinding Sound at 3,000 rpm

Hi All,

I have a 2008 C2S with X51 Powerkit and 6-Speed Manual Transmission.

Not sure how to describe this, but there is somewhat a grinding sound coming out from the back on the left hand side of the car. This happens when i am driving at 2,800 to 3,000 rpm. Once i am past 3,000 rpm, the sound stops. This happens at all gears at 3,000 rpm. However, when i am stationary and rev the car, there is no grinding sound even at 3,000 rpm. It only comes out when the car is moving. I am not sure how to describe this sound but it is like a metallic grinding sound.

I have new water pump and alternator so i do not know what else could it be. It is definately not the AWE cats either. I recently also changed the clutch and flywheel. What else is on the left hand side of the car?

Do you think it has something to do with the gear box?

Anyone else have this problem?

Cheers.

since it's RPM related, sounds like a pulley or maybe the water pump (it's near the left rear)?
