Default The 30+ year wait is over

If this story is too long for you and just want to look at pics, here's the url.

http://s1068.photobucket.com/albums/...%20GTS/080312/

I have always wanted a Porsche since I was 10 or 11. My first ride was in my uncles red 930 turbo and 2nd was in a 914 with my mom's super hot blonde friend.

I finally saved enough money to buy a Porsche in cash and looked at all of the past, present, and future models and almost wanted to wait to see what the new Cayman S would be like first. But of course I got impatient and starting looking and realized that although I do like other models in Porsche's lineup, I had to have a 911. Plus if I ever had to sell it, the depreciation hit wouldn't be as bad if I bought a new boxster s or cayman s or r.

I started looking on the Porsche website as well as autotrader and cars.com and found several I liked. I started to email and call dealers and I almost was ready to fly to texas as there was 1 in dallas and 2 in houston that I liked. But the dallas dealer (lets call them PPP) weren't budging much on price and they did not always answer questions via email or phone and I gave up because I feel that they didn't take me seriously as a buyer.

I then found a '11 GTS for slightly more that I wanted to spend, but it had super low miles (1100 something miles) and had almost every option I was looking for. I emailed the dealer and they responded back quickly and we went back and forth for 2 days on price and shipping fees until we reached an agreement.

It took a week to get the car from new york to las vegas. I drove it for a few hours that night then the next day I dropped it off for a clear bra and tint.

I just got her back a few days ago and plan to enjoy her this weekend and hope to reach the break in period by the end of the month.

Here's a breakdown of the option list. The first owner also added GT2RS mirrors. I wish he went with the paddle shifter steering wheel, but overall I'm extremely happy with the car. Many used GTS are a lot more expensive and have much more miles.

Thanks for the kind words guys. The past few nights I've been going to the garage before I go to sleep and can't believe I actually own a 911.

Congrats... that's a beautiful example and a keeper for years to come. Great conclusion to your childhood dreams... BTW, what did the GF end up getting?

I'm not sure what happened to my moms hot friend. She was a stewardess oops flight attendant but was also the daughter of an owner of an MLB team (expos). She probably moved away from hawaii and got married.

I dodged a bullet last night. The gf was talking about how she wanted to drive it today so she went into the garage to play with the seats, but felt that she can't see over the hood properly that it wouldn't be safe to drive it. She's 5'2". The passenger seat could be adjusted to be a bit higher than the drivers side seat. It doesn't matter why, thank you Porsche engineers!
