Default Question re: PSS

I have been using PS2's on my 997.1 Carrera and have zero complaints.

However, I have heard people on this forum rav about PSS - so I am considering giving them a try.

On big thing I like about the PS2's is that the rear tires wear exactly twice as fast as the front. This way I can replace the rear 2 at 10K miles and all 4 at the next 10K miles. Keeps things easy.

So - do the PSS wear the same way - rear twice as fast as front?

thanks!

Fairly new tires so I'm not sure anyone has burned through a set yet.

Oh I beg to differ! I've just installed my fourth set of PSS tires on my GTS. Most of that is due to track miles and alignment settings. But the 2/1 ratio of tire wear for street use seems to have been pretty consistent regardless of the brand of tire - I experienced that with PS2's, RE050's and PZeros on previous 997's before I started tracking the car so regularly.

Michelin claims longer tire life for the PSS, so I'd predict it'll still be the 2/1 wear ratio; just longer before the tires need replacement.

One more thing to consider, the PSS have a 15000 mile treadwear warranty on the rears and 30000 mile warranty on the fronts.
