Another Lover of Michelin PSS's
I just put a new set of Michelin PSS's on my '06 997. The rears on the Rosso's were down to the wear bars and based on the age of the car (and the fact I picked up a nail in the front passenger tire), I decided to just replace all the tires.
The PSS's are outstanding tires. They are quite sticky, much quieter than the Rosso's, and significantly smoother than the Rosso's.
Well done Michelin with this tire. Total cost out the door $1,509.00, which isn't too bad either.

I'm very happy with the PSS tires. I bought my first set for my GTS when they were first released, and I just installed my 4th set (in 15 months - ouch!) Tires live hard and die young on the track, but I'm very pleased with them for road and track use. I've had PS2, RE050 and PZero in the past, and the PSS are the best of the bunch.
I really should get another set of wheels and track tires, but with centerlock wheels on the GTS it's SUCH a pain to swap them out. I live alone, and you need a second person to assist. Wish I'd gotten standard 5-bolt wheels, but too late now. It's easier to just keep feeding it tires than to deal with the alternative.
Prices seem most consistent at Tire Rack. I buy tires from them and have them shipped directly to my tire shop.

Do a google search and you'll find other suppliers and prices. It's still not as easy and fast as 5 lug bolts, but you can do everything you need without another person to hold the brakes.

I'm sure they ship as well if the price would justify any shipping charges, etc.

I went with PS2's only because they were a bit lighter(I think 2 lbs) but will try the PSS next go around. Until this point I had only used Bridgestones for both street and track and not enough miles yet to make a valid comparison.

They seem to hold up a little longer on track than the PS2's did. That's my only apples-to-apples comparison, since the other tires were on a previous C2S. I've had both the PS2's and PSS's on my present GTS; roughly 15 track and a dozen AX days on this car.
I've also heard good things about RE11's and AD08's for the track, but I haven't felt daring enough to give them a try.

There is a big difference depending on your tire size. This is off of TireRack's site without shipping or tax for a set:
18" 235/265 $996
19" 235/265 $1138
19" 235/295 $1308
I purchased 19" 235/305 from TireRack and I think the PSS were going to run me (out the door) about $1600 vs. $2000 for the PS2.
