Default tire wear

Are we Porsche owners destined to wear out the inside shoulder of our tires do to camber issues? Is there any remedy?

Actually, if you drive your car much more aggressively you will balance out your wear evenly across the tread. If you have pronounced wear on the inside tread that simply means you are driving conservatively. If you want to have balanced wear without resorting to driving like Mario Andretti all the time you may request that your suspension alignment be adjusted. Keep in might that once you do that you are compromising upon the handling potential of that car, until you move the settings back.

For those new to the 911, this is one of the things you simply have to live with. But, always be aware of it. (It happens to the Boxsters and Caymans as well). In short--do not merely peek at your tires from the outside. Get under the car and look thoroughly or someday you will find yourself 2-3 cords short of a tire!

My car has even wear on the tires because I don't ever slow down for the corners.

I've never heard of hard driving evening out tire wear. Is the off camber in Porsches a deliberate design to help the car stay on the road when cornering hard?

Hard driving will even out the wear, but won't extend the life of the tire. It will just wear more evenly instead of all in one spot.

The lesson... Drive it like you stole it. It won't cost you any more so you might as well enjoy it.

Can you still call them corners! I take 90 degree turns at 75 with just a second dab on brakes!
