At midnight April 27th, 1975 US Marines pulled us onto a C-130... one of the final flights out before the base was rendered no longer operational for fixed winged planes the next day. Looking back it's hard to believe the life I live now, the car I drive, and the freedom afforded my family.

I enlisted at the age of 19 and served for several tours with my fellow Marines including one during Desert Storm. Next week my oldest Son goes off to Officer Candidate School - Quantico, VA. God Bless him... God bless America - Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.

Fantastic story! , thanks for sharing your story earlier. If only all our immigrants gave back like your family has, this great country would be in much better shape these days. I went to Parris Island 3 weeks after high school & then Camp Lejune for mechanics school. Thank you for your service, Semper Fi, & Happy Independence Day!

Uh-rah gentlemen... thank you for all your well wishes. These comments are hugely encouraging to my son as he heads off to the next set of challenges and his dreams/hopes of becoming an Officer in the Marine Corps. Happy 4th to all!
