Default New Tires

I have been looking for some new tires recently and am currently deciding between the pilot super sports ($433 each on tirerack.com) and pilot sport ps2s ($519). I was surprised by the Super Sports being less expensive, because I have heard they are better, but I could be wrong. Does anyone have experience with these 2 tires, and confirm which one is better?

Get the PSS. No question.
(I've had both)

Lots of info on this Forum. Buy the Super Sports. Replace all 4 tires so they match. Done.

PS2's are one of the few Porsche N rated tires. N rated tires are a requirement for the Porsche dealer to CPO a car. From all the RL member responses... the PSS are the way to go - longer thread wear, excellent traction/handling, lower cost, etc... perhaps the lack of N rating has something to do with the cost savings. Ever notice how an OEM part w/o the Porsche logo will cost so much less. I intend to replace my N rated PZero's with PSS's when they wear out and hopefully before they get the Porsche approved N rating price increase.

PSS are great and wearing better. You need to replace all 4 though that is why I have 2 fronts of the PS2 sitting in my garage with 8000 miles going to waste! Anyone need my front tires?

I'm running Hankooks which are considerably cheaper then the PS2's. My only complaint is grip in the wet and increased road noise. But for half the price of PS2's I can't complain.

2000 miles on the PSS and they are fantastic. You can't go wrong with either one but I think you'll get a bit more life out of the Super Sports

Default PSS

I've had PS2,Re050 and now PSS. I kept the front Bridgestone RE050 on as they have a little less than 1/2 of tread left. I got less mileage with Bridgesones than PS2's.
I know its better to not mix tires but wanted to see if I could feel some difference. and of course the cost. I feel NO difference in handling at all! I have a 2006 4S and it handles exactly the same as having the 4 Bridgestones.
Will get the fronts done (PSS) soon as the fronts wear down some.
I was very surprised. I dont track and dont drive it really hard.
The PSS's seem the way to go. Anyone done the same and had other experences?
TIA

Scary...
IMHO that setup will fail you when you need it most.

How's the road noise with the PSS's? I have PZero's now and boy, they are loud. I won't need to replace them for a while, but since I have no plans to track the car, I hope for a quieter ride with the next set.

Really? Is this the kind of thing that you lose sleep about at night? A 911 with any combo of tires will perform miles better than 95% of the other autos on the road in an emergency situation. It's not just tires that make our cars safe.

I do't have a direct comparison.
The PSS are not loud as far as I am concerned.

If you are happy driving like that then I am too... as long as I'm not on the same road.
