Default PCM Bezel

New to the Porsche family. Just picked up my car on Saturday (2005 Carrera S Launch Edition). Unfortunately, previous owner appears to have worn some of the paint off of the PCM bezel just above the main switch. Anyone know where I can get a replacement bezel? Alternatively, can this piece be refinished? Finally, any posts on instruction for removing this part? Thanks for the help.

they don't sell the bezel by itself. You can take yours out and send it to Eric at bumperplugs to get it refinished.
Taking out the bezel is a pretty involved process.

Good luck!

Thanks for the responses. Had a couple of rounds of email with Suncoast today only to reach the same conclusion: have to buy a whole new PCM just to get the bezel. Not gonna happen. Regarding taking it out, any instructions anywhere?

Will try to figure out how to post a picture.

Thanks again.

I used these instructions for removing the PCM a while ago when I needed to replace the fuse on the back of the pcm unit: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ion-guide.html

On this board search is your friend! Welcome to the joy of Porsche and Rennlist.

Eric,

More info please. Definitely interested. Very **** about my cars, and first Porsche is going to be very special. Defect is driving me crazy. Would a picture of the issue help? Anyway, if I can get it out, and you can match the stock finish, we should be in business. Thanks.

Before seeking someone to refinish my existing bezel, I wonder if there is anyone out there who might have installed some aftermarket PCM unit that came with its own custom bezel? Seems like a fair amount of that, so I was wondering if there are any stock bezels just lying around collecting dust. Any help? Thanks.

Finally got that picture uploaded. Looked better on the iPhone. Will update later. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. Will post something in the Stuff Wanted section. So since I'm a newbie to this site and to Porsche, I have a million questions. One of which is whether there are any recommendations for a Porsche shop in or around southern Chester County PA? Could also be New Castle County, DE. Also, I'd love to have the original window sticker for the car. Unfortunately the previous owner didn't have it. Anywhere I can get it? I was able to download a copy for my 2009 F150 from a Ford site. Any chance Porsche could be so generous?

Like I said, a million questions.

X51: where is the "Stuff Wanted" Forum? Are you referring to the Classifieds? Still feeling my way around the site, and have found the stuff for sale forum, but not the stuff wanted. Any help?
