Ok so i decided to take on my rear disk and pads its a 2007 C4S i dont track the car just street use been looking at Zimernam coated and Textar or Ebc red stuff pads , any input would be great ,thanks
I will be doing the same at some point soon. OEM rotors are overpriced in my opinion. Zimmerman or Balo are comparable for a much lower price. Pelican Parts has them for a good price. I'm not exactly sure what the "coated" means but I suspect it will help greatly to avoid the constantly rusty rotors every time it rains or I wash the car. That would be a big bonus since the rusty rotors tend to leave rust dust on the wheels and make a grinding noise for quite a while afterward. Quite annoying. I have never had a car with this much rotor rust before.
Been doing some research sames that oem pads are made by Textar , as far as the rotors not sure yet but sometimes you pay for things just because they add the name Porsche or BMW to it same part .
+1 for Pelican - you can buy Porsche OE or OE spec Zimmerman or cheap. The Zimmerman coating is both for anti-corrosion on the non-wearing surfaces as well as initial protection on the wearing surface. No need to clean this coating off the wearing surface at time of installation - just rebed the brakes and it comes off. I put these on my 997.1 C2S Cab front end and no issues at all on street or track.
Don't forget to buy the replacement caliper bolts, pad retainer spring, pin, etc. if you want to do it by the book.

Louie, for street driving, honestly do not waste your time with research, OEM is absolutely perfect. Great initial bite, great heat handling (even on track), decent life, proper cross drilled rotors (some aftermarket crack very easily).
Basically the research is done for you by Porsche and prices from Pelican or Suncoast is ballpark the same as aftermarket, so it's no brainer to me really.
