Default Painted GT2 Sills Installed

Completed long awaited install of painted GT2 sills today.

Props to Gmoney on the 6speed forum for the DIY which was the starting point for this project. Link to his DIY http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...skirt-diy.html.

Basically remove 2 torx head screws in front of the rear wheel, 6 screws from underside of the sill and pull old sill off.

One note:

When installing the front tab of the sill, it tucks behind the front wheel liner. This tab is brittle and easily broken when trying to negotiate it below the liner. I found removing the two nuts and lower screw of the wheel liner allows mobilization of the liner and made installation MUCH easier.

I haven't seen that one before. Was that from the factory?

Have you had much problem with road debris damaging paint? I am taking it next week for clear film on the front and on these sills.

Nice GT2 side sills. I thought the GT2 side sills can only fit wide body versions. Is your car a 4S?

Correct, C4S. I never liked the black sills that came stock.

Pic of fat backside...
