I just purchased an 08 Carrera. Had an 85 and an 89 a long time ago-

in my opinion, if you do not want to do any performance mods, for convinience only you need some unit for BT integration with your phone and ipod - mobridge, tooki, dension, etc.
clear side markers
smarttop(key) is essential if you do not have powerseats option as without it you have no functions for right mirror to 'drop' down when you engage reverse gear, also this unit fixes windows to be one-touch, car honks or beeps when you lock it, it is handy.

performance mods are countless.

+1 to Dectane rear LED light, completely transform the rear-end look.

Also, a mObridge, Tooki, or Dension Bluetooth/iPod kit.

Last, if you got a nice color, and black/plain center console, contact Eric (bumper plug guy), to get the center console painted exterior body color, they do amazing work, and it will update the interior look.

You shouldn't have any CPO issues from putting cats on. The dealer installed mine and said it didn't effect the warrantee.
If you have 6 speed I'd get a SSK from Suncoast.
