Your mass air flow (MAF) sensor might be dirty. It is relatively easy to clean. Search the forum for instructions.

As another notorious possibility, you might want to consider plugs and coils. I don't know what kind of mileage you have, but I only have 31k miles on my car, and I had the coils cause a similar idle problem. The MAF tested fine. You'll find that coil packs are a common issue for our cars, given their heat and water exposure.

no cel ? any modifications done to the car, ie; airbox ? plenum ? if something isn't buttoned up tight you may have an air leak and the car is running too lean. ecu will over compensate and surge idle looking for more fuel.
