Hi,
I'd like to change my 19" wheels on 997.1 carrera S wheels for 20" ones and I think there is something I don't understand...![banghead](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/banghead.gif)
The previous owner put 22mm spacers on the 4 wheels (!) and the actual wheels offset is 8ET57 on front and 11ET51 on the rear which makes the wheels go on the outside 22mm on the front and 38 (22+16mm) on the rear ( when taking as reference the stock wheels which are 8ET57 front and 11ET67 back ) I ve been using the car with this setup since I bought it and I never had any fender clearance issues or rubbing.
My problem is quite simple : why everyone says that wheels for wide body cars won't fit the narrow ones? If I take a 20 inch from Techart with 12ET48 and no spacers the wheel will be 67-48 = 19mm + 0.5 inch = 32mm more on the outside than the stock one, and which is less than the 38mm I have now. So what is the problem ? Because I don't see any.
I have a similar question, maybe stupid
with cayenne 20 inch wheels (9ET60 front and 10ET55 rear) I also did some maths and the front is 9mm more on the outside compared to stock and the rear ones are the same position as stock : 67-55= 12mm - 0.5 inch = approx 0
So why can't I put these cayenne wheels ? The would be no caliper clearance problems. The only thing I see is the weight - but are the cayenne wheels heavier for the same size than those designed for 911 models ?
I would appreciate if someone helps me to understand![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Thanx

Can't help with your query I'm afraid, but i was surprised to see you quoting different F/R sizes for the Cayenne. I have the Q7, same platform, and all the wheels (I have 18s, 19s and 21s) are the same size all round. All the Cayenne ones i have seen are also the same all round

I don't know Cayenne very well and I thought the same until I saw the sport techno wheels in 20"
The add says it's original Porsche cayenne wheels with these specs :
Front : 2X9X20 ET 60 Wheel number 7L5601025K
Rear : 2X10X20 ET55 7L5601025Q
I may add one other question. I am also thinking about lowering the car by 30mm with H&R springs and I'd like to know what is the maximum offset compared to stock wheels I can run with 20" ones when the car is lowered by 30mm ?
It's more curiosity
because with a GT3 bumper on the front the car would be too low.

Ok, so I will answer myself after some research. There is NO problem. Wheels for wide body can be fitted on narrow body, they will just stick a little bit out. Cayenne 9 and 10 wide rims can also be fitted to narrow body 997. ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
This being said, I will go with 20 techart formula 8.5ET52 and 11ET55 with 10mm and 20mm spacers without lowering.

Wait - the 20x8.5+52 and 20x11+55 are great fitments for a C2S. If you add that 20mm spacer at the rear, it will rub like crazy !
We run 20x11+35 on aggressively lowered widebody 911s !

Here is a pic of my recently lowered TT.

I am running 16mm in the rears, and nothing in the front, which needs to be addressed. This on stock wheels with 57 offsets in the rear. Be careful you wont be able to go much further.
Also note since you are buying new wheels you may as well get the right offsets. These spacers especially at these sizes are HEAVY. And so are your wheels of choice... I would revisit if I were you...

Yes Nick, you're right about the weight - it might be a better option to take 12 inch rears with ET48 than 11 and spacers..the offset difference will be just like the 20mm spacer : 7mm+ 1/2inch = 20mm. I didn't thought about that

Do you have pictures of your current setup along with specs? We've done so many of these 911s and yet never have we gone that low on a narrowbody 11+29 (like you currently have) is a very aggressive fitment for widebodies - I'm curious to see how it looks on a narrowbody.
