05 Carrera S wont start. Help!!!
My 2005 Carrera S (manual) will not start after a good workout yesterday. Topped off the coolant with distilled water earlier today and just went to start the car. Lights on all gauges come up and the headlights flash (dial is set to off). Eventually, the engine seems to reluctantly turn over once. No start. Any ideas before I have the car towed tomorrow? Thanks.

Thanks. Replaced the battery this morning. Car started right up. Getting pasm failure message on the dash and the auto window drop is not raising the windows up when the door closes. Will a short drive fix everything?

Glad you got your car started. Bet that was a relief!
However, you need to check your charging voltage to make sure "all is well". The battery should be seeing at least 13.6 volts or so. I say this because it's a bit odd that you'd have a dead battery the day after a spirited drive. Usually a battery dying of old age will show it's weakness after sitting a couple days. How old is the dead battery?
Also Porsche issued a tech serv bulletin for the early and not so early 997.1 regarding the charging cable that runs from the alternator to the battery. Your car could possibly be having this problem. Could be an alternator problem also.
Just check your battery's charging or have it checked out by a shop to be safe. You don't want to be surprised by another dead battery at the worst possible time. Your car is probably fine. Just better to be safe than sorry.
