Default Advice on gas

Would you guys consider filling your p-car with Costco gas premium (octane 93)?

I can also use Shell or BP as alternatives also but slightly farther.

No measurable difference, except price.

I ran with costco gas for a few weeks. My gas mileage dropped slightly and ive experienced the same in other cars i own. I didnt have any issues but supposedly they do not add as quality additives as chevron or shell, so in the long run im not sure how good it is for your car.

I have experience with the effects of running Costco gas in a 997 S. Previous owner kept all of his receipts so I know that the car had Costco gas for most of its 1st 20K miles. I noticed a problem with pinging pretty heavily while lugging. A bore scope view showed significant build up on the back side of the valves. Dealer asked about gas and suggested not using "cheap" gas without additives. Regular use of high quality gas and liberal use of Techron Concentrate Plus cleaned up the issue over about 5000 miles. Recent view with the bore scope showed most of the build up had disappeared. I am now a believer in fuel additives and quality gasoline.

+1. I was experiencing intermittent mis-fires on my 997.1 running Arco premium. Switched to Chevron on recommendation of high-performance Porsche shop, and problem went away after a few tankfulls.

I always use top tier gas even though Porsche does not seem to recognize the standards. It costs a few cents more but my piece of mind is worth that.

Shell gas plus Swepco 503 fuel additive. Only 3 fuel additives, however, per oil change.

Costco gas in Hawaii is Top Tier rated (Tesoro). I have no issues with it but there are usually lines and it's out of my way.

Shell premium and a bottle of techron about once month or so for my cars. I know it works well so I stick with it.

Costco gas is 5 minutes from my house. For my leased cars, I am fine using it. For my Porsche, Shell V Power. Even with the 45 cents a gallon difference, it is not worth performance issues. And I own the car!

always amazing to me how passionate people are about gas brands. Hell, Shell doesn't even refine a significant portion of the fuel sold under its flag these days.

mobil 1 station i have also seems to have nice gas.
if you get bad gas you will notice your tachometer to 'play' more than usual at idle.

True that they don't refine it themselves but they do add the same additives prior to it being sold under their "flag" no matter where it is refined.
