Default System Fault Code

I'm having this code display and wonder if anyone has any thoughts.

Issue: The System Fault code is coming on and goes out if I turn on the blinker or lights. It comes back on a few seconds after the blinker or lights turn off.

Background: I recently had my car at the dealer for in routine check and to have the computer scanned (zero over revs) and have not driven it much because I need to have my clear bra replaced due to an anonymous parking lot incident. I keep the battery on a Battery Tender with the truck hood slightly open. After returning from the dealer I installed new brake sensors since the ones originally sent were not compatible with the new pads.

TIA

I had a system fault light in my 2012 997S a few months ago. It would go off at stop lights, and sometimes when other battery powered accessories were in use. I left it off the trickle charger for a few hours and the battery died. It was under warranty so dealer sent a flatbed to pick it up. THREE WEEKS later I was able to get my car. I was told that there were two problems. I had a faulty module......never able to get the module identified or even an explanation as to what a module might do....and a weak cell in the OEM battery. It took the dealer mechanics a long time to diagnose the module. In fact an electronic printout was transmitted to Porsche supposedly finally identified the culprit.
My dealer claimed to have never seen this problem before. Good luck.

Sounds like you went through a nightmare. I'll try to narrow the cause as soon the Durametric arrives and if it as complicated as yours I'll hope its covered under warranty. Thanks for your input.

Maybe the "front control module" could be the culprit? Do a word search to see if it sounds like a possibility. A whole bunch on the Internet boards about these failing.

That's a good lead - thanks for the insight.

"Issue: The System Fault code is coming on and goes out if I turn on the blinker or lights. It comes back on a few seconds after the blinker or lights turn off."

My car was doing this and the front module was replaced. Took the dealer one day to diagnose and to get the part and one to replace- under warranty. I believe it is a common issue that could be caused by a static discharge.. I was amazed that some on rennlist said that waxing the car near the headlights could cause the problem but it seems to be true.
