Default Rear Bumper..

How long does it take a qualified Porsche body man to remove the bumper cover on a 997.2 ?

If the rear bumper needed to be painted would it be best to remove the cover before painting or can it be done installed on the car.

Thoughts and comments welcome.

Thanks,
Howard

Removal shouldn't take long. It's frequently done for exhaust installation; I don't know for sure but I would imagine under an hour. The bumper should be painted while not installed on the car.

20 minutes to remove. It's not that hard.

30 tops.

Remove to paint.

It might only take 30 min to remove, but they still might charge you 2 hours. That's how body shops make money.

Not too hard: follow my guide

However, many paint shops will prefer to work the finish on the car. It's really hard to buff out a bumper on a couple of saw horses.
